Storm Chasing
Each year I travel thousands of miles across the great plains of the United States in search of observing tornadoes and supercells. This website is a collection of my experiences in pursuit of violent winds and some of the most extreme weather in the world. Ben Holcomb is a Storm Chaser that lives in Norman, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City. While Storm Chasing, Ben has seen over 200 tornadoes with the strongest being the Moore, Oklahoma Tornado of May 20, 2013. Hail the size of softballs, an EF-5 tornado and 2 hurricane landfalls highlight Ben’s chasing career. Some of the more significant tornadoes Ben has seen include the Moore, Oklahoma EF5 tornado in 2013, The Mangum Tornado of 2019, The Andover tornado in 2022, the tornado featured in the Tiger King near Wynnewood on May 9, 2016 and Dodge City a couple weeks later on May 24, 2016. Storm Chaser Ben Holcomb’s first tornado was the Earle, Arkansas tornado on May 2nd 2008. Ben has traveled to 20 countries and all 50 states. He enjoys skywatching as well, witnessing eclipses, auroras as well as planespotting.
